Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. Brendan Smith has welcomed the decision of Cavan County Council to issue planning approval in respect of the provision of a new Primary Care Centre in Killeshandra.

“There is an urgent need to provide modern and adequate primary care facilities in Killeshandra.  GP’s and their support staff are working in outdated accommodation and modern facilities enhance the delivery of health care and enables new services to be provided locally.

Since the issue of the planning approval I have been in contact with the HSE again regarding the need to have this major building project progressed as soon as possible.  The local community in Killeshandra will welcome this investment which I have strongly supported over the past number of years.

Cavan County Council also supported Motions tabled by Councillor Sean Smith urging the HSE to progress this much needed facility ”, stated Brendan Smith.
