Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. Brendan Smith has been informed by the HSE that refurbishment is currently progressing on the Resuscitation Room in the Emergency Department at Cavan General Hospital.
The HSE were replying to Deputy Brendan Smith following further Parliamentary Questions he tabled to the Minister for Health in relation to the need to upgrade facilities and extend the Emergency Department.
“For some years Ministers have promised investment in the Emergency Department at Cavan General Hospital but the work undertaken has been extremely limited and this is not acceptable at a time when there are pressures on the Department following a continuous increase in attendance of patients over the past number of years. It is time for the Minister for Health to allocate specific funding to enable these necessary improvement works to be undertaken and have additional facilities provided”, stated Brendan Smith.
