Urgent need to have Day Services and Respite Services for persons with a disabilty restored – Brendan Smith TD

HSE

There is an urgent need to have Day Services and Respite Services for persons with a disability restored as soon as possible.

This is an issue I have raised on a number of occasions with the Minister for Health and the HSE. Many families throughout Cavan and Monaghan have spoken to me about the value and importance of these services.  The cessation of such services since mid March has impacted very severely on many individuals.  The persons attending these services need these supports and activation.

I fully appreciate that detailed planning is needed to ensure that all health and safety precautions are in place in the best interests of all the attendees and staff.

The phased restoration of services as referred to in the HSE reply must be progressed as quickly as possible.
