“I welcome the increased funding provided by Minister Darragh O’Brien for house adaptation grants for 2022 and €2.85 Million will be available for Cavan/Monaghan for these grant schemes.

Minister O’Brien has allocated €1.23 Million to Cavan County Council and the local authority will contribute €308,209. 

€1.04 Million has been allocated to Monaghan County Council and the local authority contribution is €260,745.

This increased funding is very important in assisting older people and people with a disability to carry out necessary home improvements and enables in many instances substantial improvements to housing.  The Scheme supports persons living independently in their own home for as long as possible and reduces the demand on health service provision as well”, stated Brendan Smith.
