Detailed report by Oireachtas Committee following series of meetings with Architects of The Good Friday Agreement.

The Joint Committee on the Implementation of the Good Friday Agreement has drawn up a detailed Report following a series of meetings with the architects of that Agreement.

The Agreement was an extraordinary achievement and brought an end to decades of violence and has been transformative for our country. A close partnership between the Irish and British governments and strong political leadership were key to this success

With the forthcoming 25th Anniversary of the Agreement we should reflect on the progress to date and the opportunities that will arise for all with the full implementation of the Agreement. We need to have the Assembly and Executive restored in Northern Ireland, those Institutions and the North/South Ministerial Council fully functioning on behalf of all the people.
