“I welcome the confirmation in the HSE’s 2023 Capital Programme of substantial funding to progress a number of important health projects in Cavan/Monaghan.

Among the projects to be advanced are major developments at Cavan General Hospital including the provision of new Oncology Unit, New Endoscopy Unit and 18 bed ward accommodation, relocation of Emergency Department and associated facilities.

A new Primary Care Building will be provided in Ballyconnell.

I had consistently made representations to the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly TD and the HSE regarding the need to provide these new facilities which will enhance the delivery of health services locally”, stated Brendan Smith TD.
