I welcome the issue of approval by the Department of Housing, Heritage and Local Government to Cavan County Council in respect of a new housing development at Main Street, Killeshandra.
This approval by the Department will enable the provision of 8 two-bed apartments on Main Street, Killeshandra on the site formerly known as Colette’s.
This formal approval follows on from the decision by the Minister for Housing, James Browne to approve a number of substantial housing developments throughout County Cavan by the Council. A number of Housing Schemes have been completed and others are under construction which will substantially increase the housing stock in the county.
The Schemes approved by Minister Browne include some green field sites and others are being provided through the redevelopment of vacant or derelict buildings. Utilising sites in towns and villages where there are already services is beneficial to the local community. This approval in Killeshandra will enable this housing scheme to proceed at an early date and it is a further substantial government investment in the town.
