Services must be maintained in Cootehill Day Care Centre – SMITH
Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. has appealed to the HSE to retain the present level of services in Cootehill Day Care Centre.
In representations on August 18th to Senior Management in the HSE Deputy Smith outlined the importance of this Centre for an elderly population over a wide area and he added that the services being provided there at present are very beneficial.
The Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil T.D. stated that he along with the Senior Citizens Committee and Fianna Fáil Town Councillors in Cootehill had consistently highlighted the need, during the course of 2010, for the provision of such services in Cootehill. He added that the previous Government made provision at that time for those day-care services to commence in early 2011.
The Fianna Fáil Deputy stated that it is widely accepted that this Centre has provided very valuable services for the elderly in a large catchment area and he complimented the local Senior Citizens Committee on their ongoing work in relation to this important issue.
