I was delighted to attend the Official Opening of the Kingscourt Water Treatment Plant which marks the completion of a €4 million investment.
This upgrading of the water infrastructure will ensure an improved and more reliable quality of water supply for more than 3,000 customers in the Kingscourt area.
As Irish Water outlined – “The project included the construction of a new water treatment plant, complete with a storage reservoir at the existing Kingscourt Water Treatment Plant site. This reservoir has provided much improved security of supply for the local residents. An off-site well was also developed at Descart, Co Monaghan which provides the raw water supply to the new water treatment plant”
This important project has been in the planning, design and construction phase for some years and I was very glad to support the efforts of Councillor Clifford Kelly who strongly advocated for and assisted in the progression of this project to completion.
