Bailieborough Regional Water Supply Scheme

Water-300x169

Following ongoing representations to Irish Water this is the most recent response received in relation to the ongoing difficulties with the Bailieborough Regional Water Supply Scheme.

I have emphasised again the absolute need to have this issue addressed satisfactorily with the utmost urgency.

Dear Deputy Smith,

Thank you for your query.

Irish Water in cooperation with Cavan County Council is working to resolve issues which have led to a Do Not Consume Notice being issued for Bailieborough Water Supply and to restore a safe and secure water supply as soon as possible. Raw water quality at Skeagh Lough continued to fluctuate throughout the weekend.

Irish Water and Cavan County Council staff at the water treatment plant are continuing to adjust the treatment processes at the plant so the water meets all regulatory compliances. Flushing of the network has commenced to clear out any remaining non-compliant water in the network.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Yours sincerely,
